When we started brainstorming Transcend, we knew we wanted to design an experience that would bring small groups of people together across the world, and create an environment of support and growth. We are very excited to launch the Transcend Fellowship today.
The Transcend Fellowship is a first-of-its-kind 4-week remote fellowship, which will allow fellows to engage with key themes around the future of learning and work, applying them to their backgrounds and projects, and enable them to collaborate with top talent around the world.
The first cohort of 15 fellows will go through the program from June 15th to July 14th. We are looking for global youth who are interested in engaging with the future of learning and work, and do so together with a group of amazing individuals from different backgrounds.
If this sounds like you, learn more about the fellowship here and apply before May 15th.
P.S. We know you have jobs to do - the fellowship is designed to be feasible while working full-time (we expect the time commitment to be around 5h/week, but with very flexible hours).
Dani Grant from USV describes her vision for βfree learningβ, challenging the rigid structures of educational systems worldwide. This related to the Freelearners.org project, where they provide some cool ideas for the future of βfree learningβ. One key topic weβre excited about is the use of communities to drive engagement and learning.
Our friends at bnotes write about collective intelligence in a post outlining how they are thinking about addressing informational silos in organizations and communities. We are starting to use their product from this week!
OnDeck, the place where top technology talent find their next professional opportunity, is redesigning their model by launching OnDeck Fellowships. We believe bringing more transparency into this process that happens largely offline and in selective circles can bring lots of opportunities globally.
The Economist presents a great introductory resource to understand some directions in which work will move in the next decades: it touches on the digital nomad movement, outsourcing of global talent (bridging the digital skills gap), the challenges faced by the gig economy today, the eerie Humanyze product (analyzing data from people at work) and industrial automation.
The key insight is the potential for collaboration between humans and robots in an industrial world where automation sweeps most of the current tasks performed by humans today.
